A great quote on a wall whilst I was in a cafe this morning:

Life isnt about waiting for the storm to pass
It’s about learning to dance in the rain

It was positioned in my upper left sightline, 45 degrees from centre, a north westerly view or, 10.53 on the clockface. I only saw it because I chose to sit in a seat with my back to the sun, but the quote was in full shade. My day did not yet have a fully defined purpose. A Bank Holiday, I was in a privileged world of stilled “wonderings/wanderings”, just about to think my way about the day to come, now well past the dawn.

Whilst reflecting, out of those half-light, half-dark moments pushing together, that was the right time for someone or something to catch my eye. Meeting the unexpected can be exciting, a happy coincidence  may illumine the future with a strong sense of purpose, when somehow,  the “accidental” makes sense, and it can feel like that one is in the right place at the right time. Miraculously,  episodes which last no more than seconds can be transformational, and make us think twice.

Below are some links for a private view on a digital art gallery.  A very small series about  florals freshly snapped just after the rain on a densely cloudy day. Half light is an exciting time full of half truths, waiting to reveal new possibilities and longer events.

This weekend the clocks go forward in the UK, more sunlight to help us see to use our time well, more light for the Earth to promote its annual business, and for Flora to colour and perfume our days. The most saturated colour never in sun, but always after the rain.  As for the ripest fragrance, best in humid air. The real truth of half light?  There simply to be sensible, with so much much to prepare, half light conserves the energy. Affirm with the next insect which passes you by.
